WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

It is no secret that prolonged stress creates imbalances and can have a major impact on both physical and mental health. Everyday demands are becoming increasingly complex and it can be difficult to identify what triggers stress. For people with neuropsychiatric diagnoses, it can therefore be particularly difficult to manage stress in their daily lives.
JATC Community Health Care's stated vision is to be an enabler for young adults with neuropsychiatric diagnoses. We offer a holistic concept, where housing and studies as well as work and leisure are adapted to each person's circumstances.
- We want our participants to have the same choices and be able to live just like others. That's why we want to give each individual the tools to live a full and dignified life. This requires finding a good balance between intention, activity, diet and rest," says Liselotte Almén Malmqvist, founder of JATC Community Health Care.
However, achieving this balance can be easier said than done. JATC participants often find it difficult to manage their stress and may therefore need help finding the right ways to manage it.
- It is important to have access to cognitive and emotional tools both during and after a stress episode to help us prevent prolonged stress. For us, it's fundamentally about motivation - getting active in a positive way that generates curiosity and engagement, whether you prefer exercising, walking, mindfulness or relaxing with a good book.
Liselotte believes that this is a work that starts with the staff. That's why JATC invests heavily in training its staff on stress management and personal health, focusing on everything from how to eat healthily to how to create meaningful leisure time and a safe everyday life, with room for recovery.
- The aim is to improve participants' quality of life and well-being - to make a difference in their everyday lives. Our employees are extremely committed to this initiative and it has already had a ripple effect; the training courses for our participants will start in 2022. It provides great added value," concludes Liselotte.
