The health project

What is health?

"Health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity".

(World Health Organization / WHO = World Health Organization).

In January 2022, JATC started the Health Project, which aims to promote healthy eating and exercise habits among adults who live in group homes or assisted living facilities and are in Daily Activities. The staff will be so-called health coaches. One or more are appointed in each unit and trained to guide and motivate people to gain insight and knowledge about health.

Even small changes in the right direction can influence health in the right direction. It could be baking something healthy but tasty - starting to exercise, taking longer walks and adding a vegetable to your plate. It can also be interesting to look at your own eating and physical activity habits and think about whether this is something you want to change.

The idea is to capture interest and make it fun and easy to try new ways to achieve better health.

The health project runs throughout the year and is divided into three monthly themes covering physical health, nutrition and mental health. Ongoing themes in 2023: 10. Mindfulness 11. Fruit and vegetables 12. Community

We will then evaluate the whole Health Project. We will celebrate the second year of the Health Project and award the "health driver's license" to the participants during a small ceremony and celebration.

We would like to welcome everyone to participate and be curiously inspired.
